Class Dojo

At Monkwray, we use Class Dojo regularly to post updates, photographs and share celebrations and achievements throughout the school on both the Class Story and School Story. We also use Class Dojo as part of our behaviour system. We encourage all parents/carers to link with their child’s account on Class Dojo to be able to see these updates and see the wonderful things that are happening around school.

Rewards

We use Class Dojo points to reward the children for positive choices they make or do around school. For example, if they put a lot of effort into a piece of work or are polite and helpful to others they will be awarded a Class Dojo point which they enter into their own area on the system. There are countless ways children can earn Dojo points but a regular way is by completing their homework and uploading a photo of this to their Class Dojo Portfolio.

Last year, we introduced a new system where the children’s Class Dojo points will be added to throughout the year to work towards a certificate:

50 Class Dojo points children receive a Bronze -“Be Brave, Be Bright and Be YOU!” certificate.

100 Class Dojo points your children receive a Silver -“Be Brave, Be Bright and Be YOU!” certificate.

150 Class Dojo points your children receive a Gold -“Be Brave, Be Bright and Be YOU!” certificate.

200 Class Dojo points your children receive a Ruby -“Be Brave, Be Bright and Be YOU!” certificate .

250 Class Dojo points your children receive a Sapphire -“Be Brave, Be Bright and Be YOU!” certificate
300 Class Dojo points your children receive a Emerald -“Be Brave, Be Bright and Be YOU!” certificate
400 Class Dojo points your children receive a Diamond -“Be Brave, Be Bright and Be YOU!” certificate
500 – Class Dojo points your children receive a Platinum -“Be Brave, Be Bright and Be YOU!” certificate

We know we have some extremely hard working children who will quickly gain Class Dojo points to receive these certificates.

Sanctions

We currently use Dazzling Dojos on weekly basis to help children to make the right choices during their time at school.

Each week all pupils start the week with 10 Dazzling Dojo points for behaviour. Each classroom has a traffic light system on wall of green, amber and red. Every child’s name starts on green but if a child has to be spoken to by an adult for doing something which is against class or school rules their name is put on amber. If the behaviour persists, their name is put on red and consequently they lose one of their 10 Dazzling Dojo points. If by the end of the week a child still has all of their Dazzling Dojo points they are given an extra 5 WOW Dojo points. All children start each morning and afternoon on green so they have a chance to change their behaviour throughout the day. Parents are able to see the Dazzling Dojo points as they are separate to the Reward Dojo points.
