Welcome to Monkwray Junior School!

I am extremely proud to lead our school and be part of such a wonderful community. Our school is a place where we actively encourage the pupils to – Be Brave, Be Bright and Be YOU! . We would like Monkwray to be the place where children can be introduced to the wider world through an engaging curriculum, begin a lifelong love of learning and achieve well in all aspects of their development.

We believe we are a friendly and welcoming school who want to work together to ensure the highest standards are achieved. With our dedicated staff team, we are able to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can flourish.

In 2023, Ofsted judged that we continued to be a good school. Some of their key findings were:

“Monkwray is ambitious for all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND),

“Pupils enjoy coming to school. Positive relationships between staff and pupils are quickly established”

“Parents and carers and pupils overwhelmingly confirmed that they see the school as a happy place to come and learn”

“There is a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the school.”

“Staff are very positive about working at the school.”

Our door is always open at Monkwray and I look forward to working with children and their families to help them have a successful time at our school.
